However, if we have two summoners fighting, even if you go first, chances are that your soul wolf, probably can't kill me in one shot or even take down my armor. It's just annoying that it can't climb ladders. Unless it's an ice incarnate, the incarnate's elemental infusions all do damage and quite a bit of it (fireball, mosquito swarm, poison dart, fossil strike etc.) if you add a source elemental infsion it's even more damage (for that same source point that's lost to the soul wolf) While these are not "bad" moves, they add more steps to get more damage. The soul wolf has moves like venom coating or sparking swings, etc. More dead things = less thing that can hurt you. In this game, dealing damage is "generally" better than alternative moves. Just this power boost will almost double the damage the incarnate can do over the wolf immediately. With the incarnate, if you summon it on the right surface, you can skip the elemental, and get 3-4 infusions up immediately, and maybe a haste/peace of mind off or an elemental totem. With 6 ap points, with the wolf you can usually get a power infusion, farsight and maybe an elemental or warp infusion, etc. Even if you are going lone wolf, getting your incarnate set up early is critical to it being successful. Soul wolf takes 1-2 more ap points to use, AND a source point.
